MakanDay is seeking a dynamic and creative Digital Content Creator to lead and manage our digital multimedia platforms, including the website, Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp Channel, X, and YouTube. The successful candidate will boost MakanDay’s visibility, engage stakeholders, and promote the values of investigative journalism through impactful content, strategic messaging, and consistent branding.
Key Responsibilities:
The Digital Content Creator will:
• Manage and update the MakanDay website to ensure timely, accurate content and prepare materials for print media.
• Maintain and grow MakanDay’s social media presence across platforms (Facebook, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.).
• Ensure consistent and professional branding of MakanDay’s products, events, and publications.
• Coordinate content across multiple media platforms.
• Design and implement advocacy campaigns in collaboration with partner organisations.
Key Duties:
• Upload articles and content to digital media platforms.
• Capture, edit, and produce videos and photographs for communication needs.
• Manage and organise the digital media library (photos and videos).
• Collaborate with project teams to develop media content and visibility materials.
• Support design and layout of the annual report and other publications.
• Edit and layout the weekly newsletter for regular distribution.
Qualifications, Skills & Requirements:
• Excellent written English with strong storytelling and editorial skills.
• Proficient in social media platforms and digital communication tools.
• Skilled in photography and basic video editing.
• Experience with graphic design and layout tools (e.g., Photoshop, Canva, InDesign).
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in communications, marketing, media, or advocacy.
• Interest or experience in journalism.
• A creative team player with initiative and strong interpersonal skills.
